55MM-SM04

Hi, I will take you through the setup of the SM04, tripod tin roof mount with telescoping stay bars. Here is what it looks like: fully installed.

The equipment needed to assemble and install this mount is a drill with five-sixteenths of an inch and three-eighths of an inch Tek driver bits, a level, roofing silicone, spanners, adjustable wrenches, or suitable sockets with a driver bit for your drill and of course the mount itself.

Please ensure appropriate personal protective equipment is used during your installation. This may include but is not limited to gloves, goggles, safety boots and a harness when working at heights.

The first step is to choose an appropriate roof installation location. This must be carefully inspected to ensure it is structurally sound and in good repair before installation. Please also ensure the roof location chosen is suitable for optimal signal and accepted by the customer before installation.

After choosing the installation location, install the clevis bracket by removing existing roof screws and applying roofing silicone to the penetration points. Penetrations should only be through the ridges of the roof sheeting. Seat the two cyclone washers and fasten down the clevis bracket using the two type seventeen, sixty-five-millimetre Tek screws.

Now seat the bottom of the mast into the clevis bracket and lock it into place using an M8 hex bolt with nut, two flat washers and a spring washer. Gently tighten, making sure not to overtighten and crush the mast.

Take the thicker end of the two stay bars, carefully bend the flattened end to a suitable angle to mount flush against the mast using a suitable tool like an adjustable wrench, and repeat for the other end to suit the roof pitch you are installing on.

While stabilizing the mast with one hand, lift one of the stay bars into place and attach it to the mast using an M8 hex bolt with a flat washer. Now lift the second stay bar into position and seat over the bolt end. Gently fasten it in place using a flat washer, spring washer, and M8 nut. Firmly tighten into place, ensuring not to overtighten and crush the mast tube.

Install the two stay bars on the roof surface. Make sure to install them at a point where the stay bars are not extended beyond their maximum install length of one thousand four hundred twenty-five millimetres, and the smaller angle between the braces is a minimum of 60 degrees or is not greater than 120 degrees.

Remove any existing roof screws, apply roofing silicone to the penetration points, seat the cyclone washer and then fasten down the stay bar using the type seventeen, sixty-five-millimetre tek screw. Repeat for the second stay bar.

Using your level, adjust the mast so it is plumb. With the mast held in this position, drill the self-tapping tek screws into the overlapped section of the two stay bars using the pre-drilled points as pilot holes. There are two fastening points on each stay bar.

Please note that the mount can have the stay bars installed at a ninety-degree angle if required. There is an additional pre-drilled bolt hole in the mast and an extra M8 bolt with washers and nut for this installation method. Here is how the mount looks when installed with the stay bars at ninety degrees.

The installation is complete, and the mast is ready to install and align your antenna, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
