Hi, today I’ll be talking you through the setup of the F6M. Here is what it looks like fully terminated. The equipment needed to assemble this connector is the coax cable stripper, the compression tool, RG6 quad shield cable, a set of pliers and of course the connector.
The F6M is a crimp on F type connector, Matchmaster’s most used connector. Firstly, get your stripper tool, insert the cable and wind it around. Afterwards, pull back the braid and remove the foil sheath. Then, get your connector, twist on and push.
Grab your crimping tool, open the handles, insert prepared connector and crimp by squeezing the handles together. The professional ratchet is suitable for RG6, RG11 and RG59 cable. Lastly, use pliers or side cutters to cut off the centre conductor to approximately 1 millimetre from the connector and the job is done.
